Boarding and Training
Training
Our Farm Manager, Amanda Krogstad, also offers training for both horses and riders. She has extensive experience with hunter/jumpers and three day eventers. She and her partner, Tony Marronne, are deeply involved in the horse racing industry. Tony has a Louisiana trainer's license and years of experience in that area. We are also fortunate to have several other wonderful trainers available to Farm, in several disiplines. For your riding and training needs we have a very large arena and full set of jumps. Boarding
We offer full stall board for $400 per month and pasture boarding for $250 per month. We are prepared to do overnight boarding for travelers or for those who are attending horse shows in our area. Our full board consists of bedding, stall cleaning, and twice a day feedings. We provide hay (type according to availability) and supplemental feed. A daily turnout is included in this package. Our Barn managers, Amanda Krogstad and Tony Maronne, live in the residence above the barn which offers an additional level of monitoring of the horses in our care.

We are very hopeful that we will not experience another storm like Katrina. As native of New Orleans, I know that there will be times that some of the area's horse owners will feel a need to take their animals to a safer place. We are located about 15 miles north of Lake Pontchartrain. Katrina had a miminal effect on the property. We, at CAL'S FARMS, pledge to be there for your animals should you find it in their best interest to relocate them. The property is served by several automatic generators as well as satellite internet. We feel that, as much as anyone can prepare, we have done a good job of making our facility self sufficient in times of emergency. Plan now for those events! Give us a call today.Travel assistance
As a horse owner who has trailered up and down and across our country, I know that the assistance of other horsemen can be invaluable. We stand ready to offer any assistance in this area that we can, whether you board with us or not. I have found that the internet is a great tool for locating the services we need on the road. We feel very close to the sport of polo and are fortunate to own a condo at the Santa Barbara Polo and Raquet Club where we have been able to watch some of the best polo played in America. We want those in that industry to know that when moving their horse east to west, they are welcome at CAL'S FARMS.
